Krishnanagar: Successful Kayak Expedition Completes Four-Day River Awareness Journey Despite Natural Challenges

Sting Newz Service: On Friday evening, a four-day river awareness kayak expedition concluded at the Krishnanagar immersion ghat. Despite natural obstacles, the expedition team displayed remarkable courage throughout the long journey from Palashipara to Krishnanagar. This expedition was organized with the aim of raising awareness about river conservation, drawing attention from the local populace to the preservation of the Jalangi River.

Dr. Jatan Raychowdhury, a renowned environmentalist, extended his congratulations to the Indian Mountaineering Federation, Himalayan Footprint, and Save Jalangi for their efforts in organizing the kayak expedition. The mission of this expedition was to raise awareness among the public regarding the conservation of rivers and the environmental importance they hold.

The four-day expedition advanced through numerous challenges and adverse conditions. Braving inclement weather, the team’s courage and determination became a source of inspiration for all. After the expedition concluded at Krishnanagar immersion ghat, there was widespread enthusiasm among local residents and environmental activists.

IC Amalendu Biswas of the Krishnanagar Kotwali Police Station waited for the expedition team at the ghat for almost an hour. Similarly, Krishnanagar Municipality Chairperson Rita Das arrived at the ghat to welcome the expedition members, undeterred by the unfavorable weather, which proved inspiring for the locals and the participants alike.

These kayakers believe that river conservation and awareness are responsibilities shared by everyone. To highlight the importance of protecting the river’s health and environmental value, this journey was organized so that its message would reach everyone.
