Firearms Recovered in Special Operation by Nakashipara Police, One Person Arrested

Arnab Majumder, Sting Newz Correspondent, Nadia: Last night, acting on a tip-off, the police of Nakashipara under Krishnagar Police District in Nadia conducted a special operation. During the operation, a search was carried out at a person’s house in the village of Dhaparia, where an indigenous weapon and 6 cartridges were recovered.

Shilpi Paul, WBPS (Dy. SP, IUCAW) told Sting Newz,, “The accused, Safajjel Dafadar, had kept the firearm inside his home. The Nakashipara police recovered the firearm and cartridges during their search. An indigenous firearm and 6 cartridges were recovered from him. It’s a success of our police.

The police have arrested Safajjel in connection with this incident. He was later produced in court with a request for seven days of police custody.

Such incidents raise concerns about safety in the community. Local residents have expressed worry about the illegal storage and use of firearms.

The police administration in Krishnagar Police District has stated that their operations against illegal weapons will continue and strict action will be taken against such offenders.
