East Burdwan District Police conducts awareness programme over cyber crime

Sting Newz Service:  Today East Burdwan District Police conduct an awareness programme over the issues of cyber crime, witch craft, child marriage for adibasi community at Panduk Hattala under Ausgram police station in East Burdwan. Huge number of adibasi people gather there to make themselves aware about social and cyber crime. On this occasion DSP DNT Arijit Pal Choudhury, OC, Cyber Cell East Burdwan, Snehashis Choudhury, IC Ausgram Sujit kr Pati and IC Chora Investigation Center Sujit Bhattacharya was present there.

East Burdwan Cyber Cell OC, Snehasis Chowdhury aware adibasi people about various cyber crimes and told them how fraudsters are exploiting innocence of adibasi people through innovative ways.

In his speech Snehasis Chowdhury told, “ATM fraud is increasing day by day. Fraudsters are using bank accounts of innocent people to deposit stolen money. Sometimes tricksters lure poor Adibasi people to lend their bank account where they deposit stolen money and later withdraw money through ATM card from those accounts and giving 10 to 15 percent commission to the account holder who have no idea about the fraud. During investigation the innocent adibasi account holder comes under the police net and gets arrested but actual fraudster is released by court without evidence.”

He further aware adibasi people and told, “do not give your Aadhar or Voter card to any one. These cards can be used to open bank account and taking gas connection without your knowledge. Which could be exploited by miscreants.”
