Sting Newz Service: The 75th anniversary of Matchpota High School, located in Nadia’s Nakashipara, was celebrated with great zeal on 20th and 21st January. The event kicked off with an energetic Prabhat Pheri, a morning procession that filled the streets with the voices of students and teachers. The ceremony officially began with the lighting of the lamp, a moment marked by the presence of former assistant teacher Akbar Ali, while former headmaster Enamul Haque presided over the proceedings.
The anniversary celebration was attended by a host of distinguished guests, including local MLA Dr. Manik Bhattacharya, Jyotsna Biswas, the head of Dhananjpur Panchayat, Sujata Halder, Sabhapati of the Panchayat Samiti, Sukanta Sarkar, the Block School Inspector of Nakashipara Circle, and Wacher Ali, president of the School Management Committee. There were also present Bengali writer Ansaruddin, poets Shyamaprosad Ghosh, Niladri Shekhar Sarkar, Chaitanya Das, Dinmahmad Sheikh, and renowned recitation artist Tapasi Singh.
The two-day celebration featured a variety of cultural activities that engaged students and the community. The events included a drawing competition, poetry recitation sessions, a poets’ conference, and dramatic performances. A musical evening was held by the “Monpakhi” group, adding a soulful touch to the celebration.
