Arnab Majumdar, Sting Newz Correspondent, Nadia: In a major operation, Kaliganj Police arrested 3 individuals yesterday in connection with drug trafficking. The accused, Rakesh Mondal (23), Rony Sk (23), and Md Golam Mustafa, were apprehended by SI Humayun Kabir, following a tip-off.
During the raid, a total of 39.870 kg of ganja, packed into 38 packets, was seized from a vehicle with the registration number WB58CD/7671. The seizure was carried out in the presence of the Joint Block Development Officer (BDO) of Kaliganj.
According to police, the accused admitted during questioning that they were transporting the drugs from Odisha. A case has been filed at Kaliganj Police Station (Case No. 843/24) under the NDPS Act, Sections 20(b)(ii)(C) and 29. Authorities are continuing the investigation to trace the wider network involved in the trafficking.
